Women Empowerment
Empowering women means empowering an entire generation. As our organization Pushapavan Mahila Bahuudeshiya Sanstha is dedicated to women’s empowerment, we are striving to uplift the marginalized women community of Nandurbar, a predominantly tribal region. Our main focus is to illuminate their life with the light of education. Their health is also an important matter of our concern. Regarding this, we are also aiming to raise awareness about their various health issues, their rights and existing laws implemented by the Government. Not only the tribal women, we are also actively supporting widowed, divorced, and single women by educating them, instilling confidence, and guiding them to assert their rights. By fostering knowledge and self-reliance, we strive to prevent vulnerabilities, ensuring they are resilient against violations, abuse, and fraudulence.
Education and Training
Education is a lifelong process and training adds an extra value to it. So, we have embraced this concept to instigate the process of empowering women section of our Nandurbar. We understand that a significant number of women have dropped out due to financial issues and later they got engaged in labour work in the farming sector, which does not provide them meaningful life or a sound income source. Not only them, widowed, single and divorcee women are also seen to struggle to meet their daily needs to live fulfilling lives. So we are encouraging them to continue their education through our educational programs and for training we have launched Pournima Vocational Training Center recognized by the Maharashtra State Skill Vocational Education and Training Board to provide training on tailoring, and stitching for economically weaker women and an opportunity to excel in their skill, gain confidence and earn their livelihood on their own.
Safeguarding Women Rights
Ensuring the protection of women’s rights is paramount for their welfare and well-being. We conduct numerous campaigns focused on raising awareness among women about their rights, especially widowed, single, and divorced women who are vulnerable to abuse and fraud. We stand alongside them, encouraging them to assert their rights, raising their voice and providing education on relevant laws established by the judiciary system. Empowering women through knowledge and support is crucial for creating a safer and more just society.
Child Welfare
Children are the future, and in Nandurbar, where a significant population comprises tribal and underprivileged communities, providing proper education and care for their children is a challenge. As a result, many children of these families end up working in dumping grounds. Our initiative, Brahmi Shishu Vihar, addresses this issue by offering comprehensive support, including food and education, to these children. We also educate parents about the importance of sending their children to school, ensuring uninterrupted education and providing opportunities for a brighter future through learning and hard work. Additionally, we extend our services to orphaned children and offer resume study opportunities to those who had to discontinue their education.
Awareness Against Child Marriage
Child marriage is a harmful practice prevalent among tribal, underprivileged and downtrodden communities. When the parents can not afford the expense of raising their girl child they find getting their daughter married is quite easy. Pushapavan Mahila Bahuudeshiya Sanstha is actively raising awareness against child marriage, emphasizing its detrimental effects on girls’ physical and mental well-being. We stress that it is an illegal act, and parents can face penalties. We are also advocating for girls’ education, providing them opportunity to thrive, and empowering them to make life decisions independently. We are committed to making society and the nation zero-tolerant towards child marriage.

Welfare of Physically Disabled
In addition to women and child welfare, we are prioritizing the well-being of the physically disabled. Acknowledging their vulnerability, we have initiated training programs to empower them. These programs aim to provide them with skills that lead to income generation, enabling them to lead meaningful lives. Our mission is to make them financially self-reliant and integrate them into mainstream society, fostering independence and inclusivity. Through these efforts, we strive to create a more inclusive and supportive community for the physically disabled.
